Marian has been involved with Special Olympics for 40 years, 9 as a volunteer, 31 as a staff member. She was first a staff with Special Olympics Ontario for 19 years and has been with Special Olympics Canada for 12 years. She has been part of Special Olympics Team Canada for 9 World Games. Her passion for Special Olympics and the belief that Special Olympics athletes have a rightful place in the sport community of Canada and the World is the driving force behind her work.
Goal for Austria 2017:
It has been over 20 years since Juli first became involved with Special Olympics. Starting out as a volunteer, then moving to various staff positions in both Saskatchewan and Ontario. Juli is currently employed as the Manager of Major Games and Competitions at Special Olympics Ontario. Her involvement with Special Olympics has provided her with an astounding sense of accomplishment as she watches, year after year, the improvement in the athlete’s abilities, both in sport and in their communities. This will be Juli’s first time with the National Team Program and she looks forward to helping the athletes and coaches from across Canada to achieve their greatest accomplishments!
Goal For Austria 2017: To ensure all members of Team Canada experience success in their personal goals and to have a positive experience as members of Team Canada.
Special Olympics has become Serge’s passion at a young age. He has been involved with Special Olympics for 25 years, first as a volunteer and as an employee for the past 16 years. In that time, he has attended 8 National Games and 4 World Games. Being part of Special Olympics Team Canada 2017 is an honour for Serge. He takes pride in the athletes successes at Games after all their years of training.
Goal for Austria 2017: To provide the Games Experience for all team members and to provide all the support to the athletes to achieve their best performance ever.
