How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

16 years.

How did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

Skiing is life. it has given me healthy lifestyle choices and many friends across the world.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

I have overcome many, but the main one is that Special Olympics has given me pride to be a great athlete. And even though I have had several medical problems, I always come back strong.

What has been your favourite memory with Special Olympics?

My favourite memories are racing in Thunder Bay for the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020 and when I was very happy competing at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria in 2017.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Special Olympics has taught me the importance of good health, and how to make good choices.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team Canada mean to you and what is your goal for Turin?

I am very proud. My goal is to train my hardest and go to Worlds and have fun!

What do you want people to know about athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities?

Everyone can be an athlete.

What would you say to someone thinking of getting involved in Special Olympics?
