How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

How did you first introduced to the movement and what got you hooked?
I first got involved with the movement when I answered an ad 'Looking for Volunteers'. I then became the Volunteer Coordinator for a Community Council.
How has Special Olympics impacted your life?
Special Olympics has defined how I live my life. All people are capable of achieving goals, if they are given the opportunity and support.
What is your favourite part about your role on the team?
My favourite part about this role is being with the athletes and helping them achieve their goals.
What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?
My proudest moment occurred at a competition when a teacher approached me and said, “Thank you for treating our students like the real athletes that they are.”
What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with Special Olympics?
It will be an unforgettable experience.
