How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

11 years.

How did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

The first sport I tried was figure skating. It has improved my balance, concentration and physical strength. 

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

I used to be afraid of falling down. Training with Special Olympics has helped me grow more confidence in myself.

What has been your favourite memory with Special Olympics?

Going to the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024 and having the support of my community in Red Deer!

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Hard work and determination.

What does being part of Special Olympics Team Canada mean to you and what is your goal for Turin?

Proud to represent Canada. My goal in Turin is to do my best, and earn a medal for Canada.

What do you want people to know about athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities?

People with disabilities put their best effort to achieve their goals.

What would you say to someone thinking of getting involved in Special Olympics?

Work hard, and don't be afraid of any hardship along the way.
