How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

20 years.

How were you first introduced to the movement and what got you hooked?

I was introduced to Special Olympics when I founded the Special Olympics figure skating program in Sherbrooke in 2004. I loved my experience from the very first time!

How has being involved with Special Olympics impacted your life?

Special Olympics has given me incredible experiences on both a human and personal level. It has helped me develop my self-confidence and opened me up to others.

What is your favourite part about your role on the team?

Participate in every step of the process and get to know all the athletes and coaches!

What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?

At the first Special Olympics Quebec Winter Games in Saguenay, when my athlete finished her solo. The pride in her eyes and her sense of accomplishment made me so proud.

What does being a part of Special Olympics Team Canada mean to you and what is your goal for Turin?

It means a lot to me. Despite the fact that I've been coaching for 20 years, this is only my first World Games cycle and I'm extremely proud to have been selected! My goal is to learn and have fun!

What unique skills or experiences do you bring to your role as a coach, mission staff or team leadership and what drives you to support and inspire the athletes every day?

I'm a people person and I'm very good at communicating with all of the athletes.

What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with Special Olympics?

Go! Go for it! You'll love it!
