How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?
4 years.
How did you first introduced to the movement and what got you hooked?
I was first introduced by a colleague and got hooked after being involved in my very first team training camp.
How has Special Olympics impacted your life?
It has made me more aware of diversity and inclusion.
What is your favourite part about your role on the team?
To share my knowledge of mental health and mental performance, and to support others.
What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?
Being able to support others.
What does being a part of Special Olympics Team Canada mean to you and what is your goal for Turin?
My goal is to provide the athletes, coaches and mission staff the support they need to perform at their best.
What unique skills or experiences do you bring to your role as a coach, mission staff or team leadership and what drives you to support and inspire the athletes every day?
I am empathetic, caring, and enthusiastic. I have a love of sport and travel. I have a background as a former high-performance athlete and coach. I am bilingual in French and English and grew up in Quebec and lived most of my adult life in Ontario; therefore, I understand and appreciate the unique cultures and languages of each geographical area.
What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with Special Olympics?
