Noah Filice Set Out to Make People Proud—Goal Achieved

For Noah Filice, sports have always been a big part of his life. What started as a love for basketball at age 10 soon led him to Special Olympics, where he discovered a passion for competition and a community that felt like home. Now, after nearly a decade of dedication, Noah has proudly represented Special Olympics Team Canada 2025 in cross-country skiing at the World Winter Games in Turin, delivering a performance to be proud of on the international stage.

Noah kicked off his World Games competition with a strong fifth-place finish in the 1km Free event. Building on that momentum, he delivered an outstanding performance in the 2.5km Classic, earning a bronze medal for Canada. His race-day preparation paid off, as he stuck to his trusted routine: “I like to move my body. I do some stretches and warm-ups.” With his parents cheering from the crowd, Noah felt inspired to push himself to new heights—and his efforts were rewarded with a place on the podium.

Beyond competition, Noah has been soaking in everything Turin has to offer. “I enjoyed sightseeing—we saw some old churches and stopped at a park for lunch,” he shares, appreciating the cultural experience of competing on an international stage.

When he’s not training or racing, Noah is pursuing another passion—computer programming. Now in his second year at Confederation College, he’s working toward a degree with the goal of designing video games one day. “I want to make something that people enjoy playing,” he says, applying the same focus and creativity to his studies as he does to sport.

Reflecting on his journey, Noah is proud of how far he’s come and remains focused on his goals. “I wanted to make a lot of people proud and improve on what I’ve done before. I was hoping for a new personal best.”
